Alex will be KU's version of the "swiss army knife".

Welcome and Rock Chalk!

I am happy to report that the official KU athletics website has finally updated the KU football roster for 2022. They have added the summer transfers, the incoming freshmen, and several "preferred walk ons" most of them from the State of Kansas.

If we can build a successful "walk on" program for Kansas players, that will help us in reaching the ultimate goal of controlling the local recruiting turf (or at least holding serve). Jared Casey is a prime example.

One omission from the roster, I cannot find the Lawrence High placekicker that was going to "walk on". I do not remember his name, but I thought he was going to join the team this fall.

I agree that a win over Tennessee Tech is a "must win". KU cannot afford to be looking ahead. As the old saying goes, "take them one game at a time".

That being said, out here in West Virginia, I just got tickets for the game in Morgantown on Sept 10. So, I am already "looking ahead" to that clash, which will be an early season litmus test of KU's predicted improvement.

At Ohio State, Craig Young was moved around and switched to several different positions. He was recruited as a wide receiver, but then switched to defense and played both linebacker and strong safety. They even tried him as a "hybrid" style between linebacker and safety.

It sounds like at KU , he will be an outside linebacker primarily. However, he might stay on the field as the nickelback when we go 5 in the secondary. Let's face the facts that most NFL defenses have gone to 2 linebackers and 5 defensive backs as their standard arrangement.

Ethan sure looks like NFL wide receiver Cole Beasley!

That being said, he is a taller and heavier version of Cole, and plays QB.

I have a feeling that KU has landed a "diamond in the rough".

I will bet "a million", that Doug will play a meaningful role.

I must admit, I also like the trio of Grimm, Wilson, and Arnold.

And we have a few more that will be competing for playing time.

Way to go Devin!

Now for today's trivia question, "Where did Doak Walker play college football?"

The word difference can be defined as better or worse. I think Lance is saying we will be better on defense and we will be better on offense.

The offensive line showed gradual improvement last season. It will be nice to have Earl back at left tackle. It is a critical position because you are protecting the quarterback's "blind side".

As for the other 3 returning starters Novitsky, Ford, and Cabeldue, they are most likely "penciled in" as 1st string until somebody beats them out. We also have 2 more Buffalo transfers, 1 CM Mule transfer, 2 freshmen, and several other returning offensive linemen. I must admit, I know little about them except at the spring game I noticed Reed-Adams playing left guard with the starters.
