Like many fans, I gave McCormack a lot of grief throughout the year, but when it mattered most, the big man came through, big time.

hehehe. OK.

There was a Twitter rumor that Remy was sitting out the rest of the year because he was upset about …something, not because of his knee. Self shot the rumor down

Getting good defensive players is so important to the success of the team. I hope they get more recruits like this.

I am not sure I believe Bill Self when he says he’s looking forward to playing this game. I think was more Jeff Long’s idea and Self went along with it and is now stuck with the deal.

McCormack has talent and has shown some shooting ability is past years, but he isn't a smart player. In the Dayton loss, he is fed the ball, he's outside his shooting range , so tries to push his way in and uses his forearm to clear out the defender, an obvious no-no. He has enough experience to know better, but does it anyway because he isn't smart. If the move to the basket wasn't there pass the ball back out and let the go to guys, Agbaji or Martin shoot or drive to the basket.

McCormack isn't a smart player and is not a go to guy at the end of the game. Clearing out the defender with his forearm is just bad. The go to guys at the end are Agbaji and Martin. Give them the ball and let them do their thing.

The emphasis from Kusports is always offense. I get it. It’s more interesting to write about. But when you give up 49, 52, 45, 59 and 41 points in the last five games, you’re not only not going win games, you’re not even going to be in the game. As bad as the offense has been, the systemic problem is a horrendous defense that doesn’t even allow an offense, good or bad, a chance of even being competitive. Let’s hope KU spends the next couple of years emphasizing recruiting some solid defensive players.
