Once again, I say Texas and OU see our conference as an easy path to the final 4 in the new football BCS. If we don't take some schools near West Va, the newness will wear off with them and they will bolt for the ACC or Big 12 if they get an invite. Adding Louisville and Cincy gives the Big 12 a huge footprint in the Easten Midwest and doesn't scare off Texas or OU. Also elevates our conference hugely in Basketball.

I also think the newness of all this expansion will die off soon. Let the idiots from Mizzou make a 14 to 24 hour drive to Tuscaloos, Gainesvill Fl, or Athens Ga a couple of times and they'll soon realize how nice it was to drive under 3 to Lawrence or Iowa to realize what they lost.

First I think we should add Louisville and Cincinnati to get to 12 teams and thus have a football championship again, not to mention we're called the Big 12. Those two schools would also give West Virginia more of a regional rivalry with some teams. Both those schools have been in the top 25 in Football most of the year. They have both been more sucessful on the field this year than either West Va or TCU. They are both always top 20 every year in basketball and are two huge cities. I would also think that OK and Tx both would think that on most years, they only have to beat the other one to get to the BIG 12 championship(football) and thus the automatic birth into the new BCS playoff. Enough of this expanding for tv markets, add these two(big markets I might add) to get to 12 teams and help West Va have some nearby schools to play. Makes sense right?

Louisville and Cincinatti are the only two that make sense. Geographically makes the most sense, also gives West Virginia two schools nearby to have rivals with. Both football teams go to bowl games wvery year and both are great in Basketball. FSU and Clemson in the Big 12 makes about as much sense as Mizzou in the SEC. Just stupid thinking really.

Just so you know, in other parts of the country, this hire is being laughed at. Did anyone see Florida's offense this past year? Pitiful. Also, a coach's appearance does have an effect on recruiting and the overall reputation of the university. Weiss is a Slob. This is a terrible, terrible hire. Within 3 years this will be the nail in the coffin of our new AD. Ridiculous.

What everyone else seems to forget when dumping on Lew Perkins for hiring Gill is that KU doesn't exactly have a glowing record when it comes to hiring African Americans in Major sports. I don't blame him for hiring Gill, it just didn't work out.

What about Dennis Franchione? Coached at Pitt St so he knows the area. Had success everywhere, just not enough of it at A & M.

There is a reason that he hasn't even had an interview with anyone else. His rise or success in the past was due more to lowering standards than great coaching. Eventually if you let every idiot in school to play football(see Miami) you will have some success. Once Alabama(and everyone else) started beating him on a regular basis, he saw fit to snitch on them to the NCAA over something minor. I love KU. Please do not hire this bumbling idiot.

You've got to be kidding. As a Tennessee native I can tell you, the game has passed him by. Once Alabama, LSU, Florida, Auburn and even Georgia started to rise, he had no clue. He changed a proud culture at Tennessee into one that lowered standards for athletes, numerous arrests, cheating and off field issues. The joke in the SEC is that you can't spell THUG without UT. He also stabbed Johnny Majors in the back to get the job in the first place. I'd rather have anyone but him.
