Interesting article, but it's coming from a NIU pro writer and paper. Honestly I have no idea why we didn't go after Louisville, but that ship has sailed. I've felt for a very long time that Cinci would be a great add, HUGE university with a ton of alum. I went to Ohio Uni and the MAC is good and fine, but NIU isn't a sexy enough pick for the Big 12. The Big 12 needs to get 2 teams, one should definitely be Cinci and the other I'm not sure. BYU would be amazing, but I also think that the Big 12 should go after schools in the other top 4 conferences like every other conference has. The Big 12 hasn't taken a school from a major conference that I'm aware of, but I've been wrong plenty before?

I support Kansas and HCBS, I think he's probably one of the top 3 best coaches in the NCAA men's bb currently. KU doesn't always get the recruits that Kentucky or Duke gets, but then again HCBS hasn't coached in the NBA or for the USA olympic team. HCBS doesn't get the attention that other head coaches from other programs get and I think that plays a role in not always getting the best of the best too. I know that all the comments that I've read belly aching about HCBS, would do an about face quicker than grease lighting if HCBS ever left. The 1 position isn't perfect, but at least we have players that can fill in and still be effective, 98% of the programs out there would be dead in the water under the same circumstances.

They get paid John and get to feel like big shots because of the very small market they exist in. It's fun to see how easy Toms feelings get hurt by someone simply posting this is a weird article.

Logan, I read this articles title and went straight to the comments with the same exact thoughts. Thanks for another jaw dropper Zenger, and for reminding us why getting an AD from a nowhere like Illinois State is as bad an idea as hiring Weis and Beaty. Awesome, lets settle into another 3-5 yrs of an empty stadium after 2nd game of the season and a total of 11 wins maybe.

Ruffin McNeill from East Carolina University, check him out!

I say that if Clint Bowen isn't our next head coach, I think that KU should seriously look at East Carolina head coach Ruffin McNeill. He's done a great job for the pirates and I think is ready to transition into a major conference. I believe in Coach Bowen, but if he's not the answer I hope that the powers that be take a good look at coach McNeill!

way to be a winner "off the field." this can't be blamed on alcohol, all alcohol does is amplify a persons true character. battery against a law officer shows this guy only thinks of himself and has no control. i'd rather have a program with integrity, rather than classless players with high recruit status.

I gotta say that I'm more inline with aviebs51 on this one. Actorman, who else deserves the blame? You know what the difference between great/good programs are and Kansas? Their coaches look into every detail, they see things like this happening before hand and fix it before it becomes a problem. Adams story is touching, but you can rent blindside down the street. Turner Gill is a receiver that can't catch the ball. He's not Big 12 material and should have stayed in the MAC.

drgnslyr you can probably download Cole's face and have it printed @ kinko's? I agree that the refs play to the crowd, especially in the big 12. We must have the worst refs out of any other major conference. When you watch a game, you can see how they placate to the crowd and start to get really into it while making a call. I hope we go to k crap and get the job done. I don't put much into home court atmosphere and that being the difference. Kansas is hated regardless of where we're at on the road. I love you Hawks & look forward to tomorrows game.

So many of our kids had great games tonight. Morningstar was very impressive I thought. Great assists and taking it to the hoop, very nice Brady. It felt good to see everyone healthy and out there playing Kansas ball again, it's surprises me how good we really can be when it all comes together. Great job Hawks, look forward to some more of the same come Saturday.
