why not? they're mentioning Cinn and Louisville!

Tuck (Anonymous) says...

what conference are they getting those wins in again?

Tuck (Anonymous) says...

LOL, no you misunderstood.....I was saying the Cinn and Louisville are basically the same as Houston and Rice!!! I am arguing that tcu, cinn, Loisville, Houston, Rice, byu, wvu, Rice, SMU and on are not better then A&M and Nebraska.

The only way to replace those schools are to steal good teams away from other conferences like Arkansas and Iowa or Notre Dame but that's not going to happen.

Tuck (Anonymous) says...

A&M has some clout and Nebraska is a traditional power. Both have bigger attendance and fan bases than those teams mentioned.

Tuck (Anonymous) says...

yeah, I'm honestly surprised nobody's mention Tulsa yet!

From just purely a football perspective: here's the problem.....TCU, Louisville, Cinn., or any other team that's not an already guaranteed "product" is going to get slaughtered in the BIG12.

If the BIG12 fills its slots with teams like this (who may be decent right now) in 5 years time these teams are going to be horrible! What do you think the TV renegotiation is going to be like when these teams are pulling off 5-7, 4-8 type records? The TV networks are going to say that our "product" is weaker than its ever been and we're going to lose out.

I can understand TCU, they can replace Colorado but come on, Cinn, or Louisville replacing A&M and Nebraska? I say sure if we are going to 16 teams but not for 12. Are they any better than Houston or Rice?

I'm not sure....I hate to beat a dead horse but I honestly thought that UT was the reason why these schools have left. If being bullied around and/or money isn't the reason they are leaving, I'm not sure?

I 100% think that this whole "stability" thing is just a front. Teams aren't staying or aren't leaving because of "stability". If "stability" was the reason teams were staying or going everyone who could be gone would already be gone because we aren't "stable" right now.

lol, just giving credit where credit is due :-)

Tuck (Anonymous) says...

yeah but they can give in and NOT show the high school stuff that every other member of the BIG12 doesn't want. That's called doing what they want regardless of anyone or anything else (non-compromise, the reason we're in this mess to begin with, just ask NU and A&M).

Texas is the reason that the BIG12 is going through all of this. If they are not, please tell me why all this is happening then?

Over on a Texas website (orangebloods.com) they say that everything was coming together until...surprise, Texas "balked" at comprising and pulling off their high school content on the Longhorn Network. thanks again for nothing texas!

My proposal, get all of the BIG12 presidents together in an emergency meeting and have a vote to kick out the shorthorns. Texas gets kicked out, everybody else stays. Problem solved. I guess in reality that can't happen because of TV contracts with a "weaker" conference. This same site mentions that the BIG12 is trying to renegotiate the current abc/espn contract to make it the same length of the FOX contract but without NU, CU, A&M and MU and instead with tcu, byu, Louisvlle and Cinn. the product would be weaker and abc/espn won't extend the contract.

Thanks again Texas for tearing apart the BIG12!!
