Well spoken coach in a very tough job. Seems to expect continual improvement from the players individually and the team overall. I think we made a good choice with Coach Liepold. I'm confident he will lead us to success.

Gary comes across as a very decent guy. Good representative of the PGA and KU. I follow him every year at the Wells Fargo tournament here in Charlotte, wearing my KU gear. I always get the head nod as he goes by.
Very gifted athlete. Hope he has a great season.

Very sad to hear this. Sharp little guy. I wish we could find a way to end these horrible illnesses.

I remember reading an article that suggested that teams with KU's ability should go for it on just about every fourth down....maybe worth a try

Excellent article. I always wondered why the Naval Academy could field a more competitive football team, despite being under-sized (height and weight restrictions). I have guessed it was due to better discipline and intelligence. After reading Tom's article, I would also guess that the turnover in players is significantly less than KU.
Successful sports organizations are delicate mechanisms with many moving parts. It will be interesting how things turn out under Coach Beaty. He has my support.

Aaron, This is a delayed reply to one of your posts last week regarding recruiting players from the track team. That is also what Bill Walsh did when he coached Stanford (prior to the 49ers).

I read an interesting book awhile ago. "Confessions of a Long Snapper" It was about the long snapper for the Patriots during one of their Super Bowl years. The guy was cracking up under the pressure. Paced the sidelines during the Super Bowl praying the game wouldn't come down to a field goal (it did). Yep, the snapper and holder don't get much credit. But they can screw up it pretty easily.
