Count me among those who have closed their Facebook account and will NOT re-open it. (Lack of civility was one of the reasons.) I guess I can go elsewhere and I will.

Yep. Isn't he a JuCo . . . new to the program?

I'm not so certain that fans will be patient. Surely you have been reading this board.

Good observation. Very plausible re QB change.
It's possible that Charlie sees that he is under-manned and is doing everything he can to creatively give KU an edge. Unfortunately, many of these things have back-fired. Maybe we would be better off playing our best players and simplifying things.

BTW, I like what Campo has done with the defense. When you look at his resume, how could he not be successful as a college DC? We should hope he stays awhile. The longer players are in his system, the better they'll play.

It's too early to junk the JuCo experiment. Teams that are successful with it get to a point where most JuCos are redshirted, giving them a year to be in the program to get stronger/faster and learn the plays/system before they are asked to perform on the field. We are not there yet. Most of ours were thrown into the fire . . . maybe a reason #99 missed his block on the fake punt. Pardula could have run 40 yards if that block had been made. Just sayin'!

On Opinion: Kansas football making same mistakes

Reminds me of the Phat Man's first bowl game. Philip Rivers and NC State had us down badly in the fourth quarter. Mangino called time-out specifically to huddle the team. TV video and sound picked up the comments. It went something like this:

"Who's ready to quit? Cause if you are let me know now. But if you tell me you are in this until the end and I see anything less than max effort, you'll be runnin' stairs until you can't f--kin' even stand-up."

I'm looking for the same fire; the same "will never give up the fight" attitude, and a team that doesn't make mistakes.

I watch him every play since I saw him get pancaked in the LaTech game. A blind side tackle getting pancaked! Never seen such a thing. His claim to fame this week is THREE false starts. Gawd awful.

Here's the deal: Blame both Charlie and the punter.
1) Charlie did not pull the fake option for the punter, even though we were deep in our own territory..
2) The punter saw the defense in a specified formation that indicated the fake would work. As he was given the opportunity, the punter called the fake, but the two players who were to seal the left side did not execute their blocks. Do we blame that on lack of talent or coaching?

Sorry, Charlie! It was all your fault.

Reminds me of the coach who instructed the qb to run out the clock by handing off to Smith, then on fourth down, to punt it.. On first down, Smith gained 30 yards. On second down Smith gained another 30 years. On third down, Smith ran it to the opponents' 5 yard line. On fourth down, the qb punted it out of the stadium. Coming to the bench, the coach yelled at the qb, "What the hell were you thinking?" The qb replied, "I was thinking we have the dumbest coach in America!"
