Mangino!
Aside from Mark, here are some other possibilities I wouldn't mind popping up in Lawrence:
Ed Orgeron - Did a heck of a job at USC
Josh McDaniels - Worth a chance on a 2nd Patriot OC?
Lane Kiffin - Just kidding! Mostly... After picking Weis, would this surprise anyone?)
John Reagan - If we need a *cheap* hire and we're not sold on Bowen
Jim Harbaugh - Longshot I know

2nd ex-patriot OC? He's proven himself to fail (Denver), and has ridden Belicheck's coattails to having a name for himself, just like Weis. As seen versus the Chief's last night: Punt, Punt, Punt, Punt, Punt, Int, Fumble, Punt... I hope this was a joke just like Kiffin!

How can anyone vote for Bowen? He's yet to coach a single game. I'd say let's see how he performs.

I voted for Mangino....but...I do not think Bowen is bad choice....btw..Mangino was an assistant with no head coaching job in college football when Kansas hired him.

I saw K-state's Dana Dimmel somewhere and I like that possibility. Also Oregon's Scott Frost. We need an offense guy. But I'm intrigued with the Dreilling suggestion. He should be brought onto the staff. Replace powlus. But Kansas ain't Texas football. But who is the texas high school king now. That's worth thinking about for future reference.

Kansas needs a coach that can win..and win without 4 or 5 star talent. Mark Mangino has already proven he can do that.

1. Doeren, 2. Mangino, 3. Leavitt, 4. Warriner... please don't hire Mack Brown. I'm not sure that any of Doeren, Mangino, Leavitt, or Warriner would accept an offer at this point.
Why so many are voting for Bowen is puzzling to me.

I'd guess that people are voting for Bowen because he in fact actually IS the new Head Coach right now and so far has not lost a single game as such, thus voting for Bowen hoping in the best interest of KU Football that he can salvage the season and win the head coaching position in earnest based on merit at season's end.
At least that's why I voted for Bowen. However, if Weis had not been fired till season's end then there's no way I would have voted for Bowen because he'd have no time to earn the title and would not stack up as a candidate against the other names listed.

another theory would be that people simply want to see the results and/or read the comments and since Bowen is at the top of the list they vote blindly for Bowen in order to reveal the results and comments.

Jim McElwain. Currently head coach of Colorado State. Won New Mexico Bowl last year vs Mike Leach's Washington State Cougars. This year they've beaten in state rival Colorado and won at Boston College. BC beat USC the previous week. Prior to Colorado State, McElwain was the OC for Nick Saban at Alabama.

How about Craig Bohl, former head coach at North Dakota State (the guy who beat K-State) and current coach for Wyoming? Or KC Keeler from Sam Houston State?

I agree about Mangino. It's unrealistic to think that the guy would even give KU the time of day considering how he was drug through the mud as we gave him the boot. He's not coming back. Ain't happenin'!

Scott Frost or Rhett Lashlee - young, energetic and forward-minded thinking coaches. If they leave in 4-5 years because they've kicked ass and put KU back on the map...? So what. It beats what's going on right now.

Reading the comments has been very interesting. I fail to understand why we would want another NFl assistant, who does not have experience with high school recruits entering the university system. Clint has the experience, young enough to relate to high school players, and has experience in the Big 12. He stepped into the heat of a major football conference, with minimal chance of success, but has demonstrated small steps for improvement. Let us give him a chance.
