KU's Devon Dotson named Big 12 Player of the Week
The Big 12 Conference on Monday broke the tie.
Five days after earning co-MVP honors of the Maui Invitational with teammate Udoka Azubuike, sophomore point guard Devon Dotson was named the Big 12 player of the week.
In KU’s three victories in Maui, Dotson averaged 21 points and 4.3 rebounds and also led the Jayhawks in assists (13) and steals (8).
Azubuike left Maui having averaged 18.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while shooting 83% from the floor to help KU bring home the title.
Dotson currently leads the Big 12 in scoring at 19.7 points per game through KU’s first seven games of the season. He also is among the conference leaders in steals per game (2.1), field goal percentage (50), assists per game (4.3), free throw percentage (87), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.4-1) and minutes per game (35.6).
Monday marked the second time in Dotson’s KU career that he had earned a conference player of the week honor.
