Another 2019 star to visit Kansas for Late Night in the Phog
After hosting Kansas coach Bill Self and assistant coach Kurtis Townsend for an in-home visit on Wednesday, 2019 shooting guard Cassius Stanley revealed on Thursday he will officially visit Kansas during the weekend of Late Night in the Phog.
The 6-foot-5 Stanley, a four-star prospect from North Hollywood, Calif., is ranked No. 31 by Rivals.com in the 2019 class and is considered by many to be one of the best — if not the best — athletes in the class.
His highlight reels on YouTube have become must-see for many fans because of his gravity-defying dunks. However, Stanley is more than just a dunker. Stanley has worked hard on his all-around game over the past few years. His athletic ability puts defenders on their heels, which allows him to blow by them or shoot a pull-up jumper.
The versatile guard who has used his athleticism to play the 1, 2 and 3 — he also can guard those three positions on the defensive end — has said that KU, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Texas and South Carolina have been the schools putting in the most work in recruiting him.
The updated visitor's list for this year's Late Night (Sept. 28 at Allen Fieldhouse) looks like this:
- Jeremiah Robinson-Earl
- James Wiseman
- Cassius Stanley
- Christian Braun
- R.J. Hampton
- Chandler Lawson
- Johnathan Lawson
- Isaac McBride
- Ty Berry
- Bryce Thompson
- Anthony Walker
