The Kansas baseball team was shutout for the third time this season Wednesday in an 11-0 road loss to Wichita State at Eck Stadium.
Kansas (19-17) was held to four hits while its first three pitchers — Conner VanCleave, Jonah Ulane and Daniel Hegarty — allowed two or more runs apiece. WSU (26-9) starter Tyler Davis struck out eight in five innings, giving up just two hits.
"That is as poor of an offensive performance as we have had the entire season," KU coach Ritch Price said. "Once we got behind, we weren't even able to compete at the plate to get back in the game. Wichita State completely dominated us."
The Jayhawks will travel to Oklahoma State for a three-game series, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
